Welcome to North Oaks Pediatric Clinic, LLP. We have been serving the North Shore and Florida parishes since 1978. We offer a full range of general pediatric services. We pride ourselves on providing compassionate, comprehensive services to children from birth through young adults.

Our shared goal, as parents and physicians, is to guide your child on a path of optimal health. Meet Our Staff

  • Samuel A. Hickey, Jr., M.D.

    Dr. Samuel A. Hickey, Jr. is a Board Certified Pediatrician who has been with North Oaks Pediatric Clinic since July of 2002.  He grew up in Metairie Louisiana.  Dr. Hickey attended college at Southeastern Louisiana University, medical school at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, and completed a Pediatric Residency Program at LSU through Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.  Dr. Hickey is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and an ordained deacon of Williams Blvd Church in Kenner, Louisiana.  Dr. Hickey has been married to his wife Stacy for 28 years.  They have a daughter, two sons, three dogs and a cat.  In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, pets and drag racing.

     

  • Elizabeth H. Fritz, M.D.

    Dr. Elizabeth Fritz joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in July of 2007.  Dr. Fritz grew up in Metairie, Louisiana.  She graduated from Auburn University of Nursing after graduating from Mount Carmel Academy. She was a Registered Nurse for 5 years and returned to school to obtain her MD.  She attended LSU Medical Center New Orleans, and completed her residency at LSU in New Orleans and Children's Hospital in New Orleans Louisiana.  Dr. Fritz is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is also a member of both the Louisiana State and Tangipahoa Parish Medical Societies.  Dr. Fritz is married with two daughters and enjoys spending time with family, cooking and traveling.

  • Melissa Schillage, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Melissa Schillage is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Melissa joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in 2002 as a Registered Nurse. She started seeing patients as a CPNP in December of 2007. Melissa received her BSN from Southeastern Louisiana University and her MSN from the University of South Alabama. Melissa is married with three children.

  • Susan Griffin, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHS

    Susan Griffin is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Susan joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in July of 2008 as a Registered Nurse.  She started seeing patients as a CPNP in May of 2009.  Susan has been in the nursing field for 30 plus years (20 years was taking care of newborns).  Susan received her BSN from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1978 and her MSN from the University of South Alabama in 2009.  Susan grew up in Bedico Louisiana. Susan has one son and two grandchildren.

  • Jessica Verburg, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Jessica Verburg is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Jessica joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in 2010.  Jessica received her Associates Degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 1997.  Jessica got her BSN from the University of Mississippi in 2000 and her MSN from the University of South Alabama in 2005.  Jessica grew up in Magnolia Mississippi.  Jessica and her husband have 3 children.

  • Lesley Palisi, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Lesley Palisi joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic as a Registered Nurse in 2001. She started practicing as a CPNP in April of 2012. Lesley received her BSN from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1998 and received her MSN from the University of South Alabama in 2011. Lesley and her husband have three children.

  • Cathy Riggio, APRN, FNP

    Cathy Riggio is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in 2009 as a Registered Nurse. Cathy received her BSN and MSN from Southeastern Louisiana University. Prior to receiving her education Cathy served in the United States Army and Louisiana National Guard. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Tony and they have two children, Joseph and Aubrey. She is also an avid animal lover and has two fur babies, Maggie and Bentley. 

  • Michelle Emery, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Michelle Emery is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Michelle started with us as a Registered Nurse in 2009.   She received her BSN from Southeastern Louisiana University and her MSN at University of South Alabama.  Michelle is married with two children.

  • Kimberly Simoneaux, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Kimberly Simoneaux first joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in 2002 and was here for 13 years, left for a brief amount of time and rejoined the practice in 2018.  Kimberly grew up in Independence, LA.  She received her Nursing degree at SLU and then got her Master's at University of South Alabama. Kimberly, along with her husband, have four boys.

  • Sarah Hayden, APRN, FNP

    Sarah Hayden is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was a Registered Nurse for 9 years with North Oaks Pediatric Clinic. Sarah received her BSN and MSN from Southeastern Louisiana University.  She is from Ponchatoula, LA. Sarah and her husband have two children.

  • Nicole Hutson Simone, APRN, CPNP-PC

    Nicole Hutson Simone is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who joined North Oaks Pediatric Clinic in December 2021. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2000, Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama in 2004, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of South Alabama in 2012. Nicole grew up in Tangipahoa parish and continues to reside here with her husband and son.

  • ​Brittany Brumfield, APRN, FNP

    Brittany Brumfield is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her BSN from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009 and her MSN from the University of South Alabama in 2019. Brittany worked as a Registered Nurse in pediatrics in the Baton Rouge area from 2009 until 2015. She has spent the last 3 years working in Pediatric Neurology alongside Dr. Charlotte Hollman. She was raised in Amite, where she resides with her daughter.
